2.Bill Ackman advises Eric Adams insider trade against himself
Mayor Adamsā polls have only gotten worse since he announced his intention to run for reelection, and the betting sites show an even darker picture. And as we know, the betting sites have a much better track record in predicting the future than the polls. Polymarket now gives Eric a 1% chance of winning and offers a 70-1 payoff for those who want to place a bet on him. Polymarket gives @andrewcuomo a 15% chance to win and a 7-1 payoff for the win. Andrewās odds improve dramatically if Eric drops out, and even more with @CurtisSliwa out. The experts I trust predict the odds shift to approximately 50/50 in a one-on-one Cuomo/Mandami election. If the field narrows soon, the odds get even better for Cuomo. If I were Eric Adams, I would look at myself in the mirror and ask myself whether I should continue to risk my reputation on a 1/100 moonshot when the alternative is taking the high road and doing what is best for NYC. I strongly believe that what is best for NYC ā Eric stepping aside ā is also what is best for Eric Adams. Eric should know that goodwill is a very valuable asset and the alternative is a very costly liability. Eric staying in the race is a disaster for New York City and a challenging future for him. I would not want to be the person responsible for handing control of the City to @ZohranKMamdani. The mirror does not lie. Eric, please take a close and hard look. And to fund your future, you could place a large bet on Andrew Cuomo and then announce your withdrawal from the race. There is no insider trading on Polymarket.
Human owners of parrots in the study reported that the birds seemed happier when they could interact online with other parrots and not just with peopleā¦
Scientists are using digital technology to revolutionise animal communication and move towards an āanimal internetā, using new products such as phones for dogs and touchscreens for parrots.
Experiments by Glasgow university have enabled several species, from parrots and monkeys to cats and dogs, to enjoy long-distance video and audio calls. They have also developed technology for monkeys and lemurs in zoos to trigger soothing sounds, smells or video images on demand.
Ilyena Hirskyj-Douglas, who heads the universityās Animal-Computer Interaction Group, started by developing a DogPhone that enables animals to contact their owners when they are left alone.
Her pet labrador Zack calls her by picking up and shaking an electronic ball containing an accelerometer. When this senses movement, it sets up a video call on a laptop, allowing Zack to interact with her whenever he chooses. She can also use the system to call him. Either party is free to pick up or ignore the call.
ā¦When a parrot wanted to connect with a distant friend, a touchscreen showed a selection of other birds available online. The parrots learned to activate the screen, designed specially for them, by touching it gently with their tongues rather than pecking aggressively with their beaks.
āWe had 26 birds involved,ā said Hirskyj-Douglas. āThey would use the system up to three hours a day, with each call lasting up to five minutes.ā The interactions ranged from preening and playing with toys to loud vocal exchanges.
